Earth and Ceremony presents I Want to Hear the Sea, an opera being premiered as part of the NW New Works Festival, a showcase of fully produced 20 minute new and experimental works from Northwest performers. I Want to Hear the Sea will be performed on the mainstage on June 17th / 18th.
We have a Kickstarter campaign to help fund this production. Thank you for your consideration! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/saintsalo/i-want-to-hear-the-sea
This campaign will raise the funds required to offset costs of rehearsal space, costume fabrication, artist fees, and set construction to help us realize our shared vision for this ambitious undertaking. Our campaign goal is to raise $7,500 over the next 30 days, and we won’t be able to reach it without YOUR support!
For a better idea of what exactly we’ll be using these funds for, I Want to Hear the Sea will feature a large scale costume produced by designer Anna Telcs, and is large enough to require several puppeteers to operate it during the performance. This also includes custom metal work created by Brain Constans (Precision Art Works) and carpentry by David Alexander Nelson. The costume will be lit with projections masterminded by our lighting designer Tristan Roberson. This costume and set will serve as a foundational artistic element in next year’s expanded production of this same piece as part of Earth and Ceremony’s inaugural 2018 season.
We are very excited and blessed to have such amazing talent involved in this production. I Want to Hear the Sea collaborators include Anna Telcs, Belle Wolf, Sharon Park, Le’Ecia Farmer, Skylar Tatro, Whitney Bashaw, Rachel Robillard, Katelyn Norris, Cassandra Wulff, David Alexander Nelson, Garek J Druss, Brian Constans, and Tristan Roberson.
